Once a year, in an intensive one-week program, a select group of eighth- and ninth-grade students from around the Valley learns how to connect physical products to the internet. In 2025, they harnessed IoT technology for the training routine of Hapoel HaEmek’s basketball players. After sitting down with the coaches and athletes, they set to work planning and building, aiming to make the training routine more efficient using technology and IoT-based automation tools.

Technology in the Service of Sport
The Educational Dimension: Learning a unique field from the worlds of the internet and technology, and harnessing it for real needs. Thinking, planning, and execution. Developing methods of teamwork and time-bound work.
The Industrial Dimension: Exposure to existing sports technologies and their development. Working with Gevasol’s tools and labs.
The Community Dimension: Developing tools that can serve the Valley’s local sports teams in improving performance and tracking progress.
The Connection/The Experience: “The real sprint doesn’t happen only on the court; it begins with precise technological work in front of the screens, and continues in hands-on collaboration with leading athletes in the field. When what we build influences and improves the result on the court — that’s a real win.”
